Batman’s Chicago

I was reluctant to post any Batman related posts (well, until after I see it and will be most certainly compelled to get my digital fawning into overdrive), but I came across this article on Fandango that was just too cool not to pass along. It takes you on a short tour through the different spots that were used in Chicago and tells what they converted them to for the Dark Knight. As a lifelong Chicago native it was quite a treat to read and has kept my fanboy nipples properly tweaked for tomorrow’s screening.

  3. Me and wifey-poo went to Batman Sunday morning. Even the 10AM & 10:30AM Sunday show was sold out!! We managed to get tickets to the 11am which was clearly sold out by the time the show started as well.

The film was better than all the lauded praise thrown at it; a super tight, high energy, noir that had the best villain i’ve seen in a comic movie (and really almost any movie) by a long shot. Ledger’s Joker could easily be classed with Anton Sigur and Alex from Clockwork Orange in both performance and seductivity. I found myself so engrossed in the Joker and enjoying him so much that I was actually worrying that he might be killed, captured or tamed.

What a great film that can combine amazing techno-toys, world class villainy, and philosophical mind fucks in every scene. I’m gonna be going back for seconds and thirds he really soon.
