Words can’t convey how amazing it was to be in Grant Park celebrating the proudest moment of my civic life with the people closest to me. It was truly transcendental.

Words definitely can’t explain, but as soon as I sleep off a bit more of this hangover I’m sure I’ll take a pass at it.

Aside from McCain choosing Sarah Pailin as his running mate, probably the single thing that has made me so excited about Barack Obama (and holy shit am I excited) is the plan he lays out in his “Blueprint for Change” on using the internet for greater transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement.

In that spirit here’s a great article from Popular Science on how the next president can harness the largely untapped power of the internet for the ends of a greater and more properly compelled and informed democracy. The article arguably reaches it’s apex in it’s citing of George Mason University research fellow Jerry Brito and his paper on converting all government documents to XML format for greater extensibility and usability. Apparently that attack on a GOP worker by an “Obama supporter” who allegedly carved a “B” into her cheek was faked…

i’m thinking if by some cruel (and probably illegal) twist of fate McInane gets elected his first act as president should be to officially change the national anthem to the Looney Tunes song.

Larry David wrote a great guest piece on the Huffington Post today.

“I can’t take much more of this. Two weeks to go, and I’m at the end of my rope. I can’t work. I can eat, but mostly standing up. It’s weird cuz I keep hearing these so what qualified pondits say it was his best debate yet, but honestly, between you and me, you know us honest ones who live in the creases between media, it sure looked like Obama stomped the fuck out of that sweet but obsolete old man.
